Geocaching: The Latest Challenging Find

Simply put; this was a cool one. My Explorist GC chimed to let us know we hit ground zero, but our location (the middle of a path deep in a dense forest) didn’t really seem to be a spot that was typical for hiding a cache. After poking around for a few minutes, Tyler – spotted it – at least 30+ feet up, hanging from a branch. Getting it down was easy… putting it back was the challenge – on a tree with no branches to climb – but much more fun than simply finding it behind a rock. I won’t mention anything further, such as, the cache name, etc. so others can experience the fun/challenge when they stumble upon this one.

Geocaching: Found Luther-Riley Historic Cemetery (GC19HHV)

Memories – I attended JG Luther for grades 1-6 in the early-mid 70′s as I grew up in Swansea, MA, and I remember helping to clean and re-open the museum of the same name up the road decades ago with friends and parents. The museum is really cool, and is essentially a small brick/stone house located in a neighborhood amongst newer wood homes. I remember it having a lot of arrowheads and other early settler/Native American artifacts found in the area on display.  I also remember being wowed as a kid by the skeleton of an unfortunate person killed by an arrow (there is an arrowhead stuck in the pelvis).  However, I don’t think I’ve ever been to this cemetary. The cache is located on the outskirts, near the trees.

Geocaching: Found Wholesale Cache (GC2A48F)

Found this one while in the area. Great view of Providence way off in the distance from the cache location!
